House Bill 335

Status: Fourth hearing in House Ways and Means (October 15, 2025)

Description: The bill imposes an inflationary cap, equal to the GDP deflator growth, on inside millage collections. The cap would be recalculated every three years (when the county undergoes a reappraisal or update).

CCAO Position: Proponent.

NOTE: As suggested by the bill's title, HB 335 started as a much broader measure and was narrowed as the legislative process has progressed. CCAO opposed the bill when it was first introduced as a measure to eliminate inside millage, and was an interested party when the bill was amended to create an inside millage cap stricter than the current version.
