Description: The bill creates a credit against the sales tax in transactions in which a new or used portable electronic device is purchased and the price is reduced due to the trade of another device involved in the transaction. The same applies to similar transactions involving new or used home appliances.

Similar credits already exist for motor vehicle trade-ins and watercraft trade-ins.
