Description: The bill requires that additional revenue from any increase in conveyance fees after the bill's effective date be deposited into a new fund in the county treasury called the County Housing Fund. Money in the fund is to be used by the board of county commissioners for purposes related to low-income housing, first-time home buyer assistance, disability housing, or transition housing.
The bill does not increase the maximum conveyance fee rate ($0.30 per $100 of value transferred). Currently, 62 counties are levying the maximum fee, meaning only 26 counties can utilize the authority in the bill.
