Status: Third hearing in House Veterans and Military Development (October 15, 2025)

Description: The bill increases the amount that certain organizations (Army and Navy Union garrisons/branches, chartered veterans organizations) can request from the board of county commissioners to offset Memorial Day expenses.

Under current law, these organizations can request up to $500. The bill increases that amount to $1,000.

If an organization makes a request, the county is required to provide the funding. Unused funds are returned to the county.
