Status: Third hearing in House General Government (June 3, 2025)

Description: The bill makes a number of small changes to the duties of the Auditor of State (AOS). For the purposes of county government, these changes include:

• Annual financial reports filed by public offices must include budgetary comparison information as prescribed by the AOS.
• County recorders and county auditors must retain documentation that they have completed continuing education courses. This documentation is subject to audit.
• The AOS is removed from the process for counties to create sectional indexes.
• The AOS is no longer required to consult with the Tax Commissioner when approving a political subdivision's request to create a new fund.
