Description: The bill allows boards of county commissioners to levy a property tax for the purposes of supporting pre-kindergarten programs and services.

Funds from any such levy must be appropriated to at least one nonprofit entity that is property licensed to provide pre-K programming and is rated in the middle tier or higher in Step Up to Quality. The entity receiving funds must also prioritize assisting children and families with an income of less than 400% of the federal poverty line.
