Description: The bill prohibits employers from discharging, threatening to discharge, or taking any disciplinary action that could lead to the discharge of a permanent employee who is absent from work to serve as a precinct election official (poll worker) or to attend the training program to serve as a precinct election official.

Employers are further prohibited from requiring employees to use annual, vacation, or sick leave for time spent serving as a precinct election official or to attend a training program.

The bill's provisions only apply if the employee provides reasonable notice to their employer and if the employee's absence is actually attributable to their service or the training program.
