Status: Second hearing in Senate Ways and Means (March 4, 2025)

Description: The bill eliminates the authority for Ashtabula County to levy an additional lodging tax of up to 3.50% to construct, expand, maintain, operate, or promote a convention facilities authority. Ashtabula County currently uses this authority to support the Geneva-on-the-Lake Lodge.

CCAO Position: CCAO opposed a similar provision that was included in the state operating budget. The provision was vetoed by Governor DeWine.
