Description: The bill allows certain low-income tenants (those with at least one child, are not the dwelling owner, and have an annual gross income of no more than 250% of the federal poverty line) to obtain free legal counsel when facing eviction, and notice that free counsel may be available must be provided when eviction proceedings are initiated against such an individual.
The bill also imposes certain requirements on the Board of Building Standards to review certification rules and to publish lists containing certain information.
The bill also requires buyers in real property conveyances to submit affirmations that the buyer is a natural person or, if not, must identify a natural person who owns or controls the buyer.
