Description: Under current law, a primary candidate's candidacy can be challenged only by a member of the candidate's political party and who is eligible to vote in the race the candidate is running in or by a member of the party's controlling committee.

The bill expands the right to challenge a primary candidate's candidacy to any elector who is eligible to vote for an office at a general election, regardless of the elector's partisan affiliation.
