House Bill 457
Lead Sponsors: Representative Gary Click
Status: 1st hearing in House Government Oversight Committee (April 9, 2024)
Description: The bill alters the procedure that county boards of elections must take when an elector moves from one county to another.
A county board must transfer the elector's registration and voting history to the new county (current law requires the old registration to be cancelled and a new one created). Boards must also retain copies of the elector's information permanent rather than for two years as under current law.
CCAO Position: No position (as of July 2024)
