Description: The bill generally requires political subdivisions, as well as private employers with at least 75 employed individuals within Ohio, to verify each new employee's work eligibility through the federal E-Verify system.

The bill also requires contracts for public improvement construction and public improvement maintenance entered into by political subdivisions to contain a provision requiring the contractor to use E-Verify for the same purpose.
