Description: The bill, as Passed by the Senate, would allow the state to hold a special election in August for the purpose of voting on a constitutional amendment proposed by the General Assembly.
The House Government Oversight Committee removed those provisions and replaced them with provisions to extend the deadline that major political parties have to certify to the Secretary of State the names of its candidates for President and Vice-President in 2024 and to change the deadline in future presidential cycles.
