Status: Passed the Senate 25-8 (May 10, 2023), 2nd Hearing in House Homeland Security (June 21, 2023)

Description: The bill lowers the minimum age for a person to receive an original appointment as a police officer to 18 years old. The bill does not change the existing requirement that applicants pass a physical examination.
