Description: The bill makes a number of changes regarding the state's 9-1-1 system to facilitate the transition to the Next Generation 9-1-1 system.

Other Notes: Many of the provisions of the bill were included in the state operating budget (House Bill 33), including the changes to the statewide steering committee, changes to county 9-1-1 systems, and the creation of a monthly user fee on devices to fund the Next Generation 9-1-1 system (although the user fee amount enacted through the budget differs from the amount in this bill).
