Member Relations Event Coordinator

The position with the County Commissioners’ Association of Ohio (CCAO) requires a bachelor’s degree in event planning, hospitality, marketing, public relations, journalism or communication; proven experience in event planning or public relations; and a valid Ohio Driver’s License with the ability to meet insurance requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES – under general supervision, coordinate all conference activities including the annual Winter Conference, any summer conference, and all member education training sessions. Candidate must be able to negotiate vendor contracts; place orders from designated caterers for all Board and committee meetings; sell and place advertising for the CCAO Roster, assist in annual Roster preparation, secure updated photographs and assist in proofing final copy; plus write and edit certain publications and website.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES – Knowledge of computers, particularly applications in Microsoft Suite related to publishing and graphic design. Knowledge of county government preferred. Ability to sell advertising; high level of oral and written communication; ability to schedule, organize and prioritize.

Position reports to the Managing Director of Operations.  This is a full-time salaried exempt position. CCAO offers an unusually healthy suite of benefits.
