The County Commissioners Association of Ohio is pleased to offer a webinar on Wednesday, January 9 at 9:30 a.m. on “Workplace Law – Developments and Expectations for 2019.”

Employees are the single largest investment for counties and local government. To be able to effectively manage this investment the session will address the developments from court decision including pending Janus litigation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), marijuana and employment discrimination laws.

With an eye to the horizon, this session will also identify trends including union negotiation demands and settlements, state and federal legislation, and pending court cases affecting counties and local governments.

Our speaker is Jonathan Downes, an attorney with the law firm of Zashin & Rich, who has over 30 years of experience in practicing labor and employment law in Ohio. He represents cities, townships, counties, school districts and public officials throughout the State.
