Brad Cole, CCAO managing director of research, will retire on March 1. Cole was hired by CCAO as a research specialist in December 1986, having served previously as a lobbyist for the Ohio Railroad Association for four years, a legislative aide to two state senators including aide to the chairman of the Senate State and Local Government Committee, and a legislative service commission intern (now legislative fellow). Cole began his career working as a LSC intern assigned to the Ohio House in December 1977.
During the past 31 years Cole has held various titles and performed a variety of duties for CCAO. Following his hiring as a research specialist, Cole was named legislative coordinator, later senior policy analyst and most recently managing director of research. Over 30 years of Cole’s portfolio has included a range of county subject areas including tax and finance, state and local taxes, permissive taxes, county budget procedures, purchasing, investment policy, transportation, some environmental policy and general government issues. In addition to his continuing role in constituent services, in recent years Cole has managed various research functions and served as host of the Second Wednesday monthly webinar series.
