THURSDAY APRIL 23, 2020 at 11:00 AM
The Ohio Job and Family Services Directors’ Association County (OJFSDA) and the County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) are pleased to offer a one-hour webinar on Thursday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m:
“Navigating Unemployment Insurance during COVID-19: Tips and Pathways for Employers”
This presentation will provide a high-level overview of the SharedWork Ohio program, a vital layoff aversion tool that allows employers to retain trained staff during times of reduced business activity. The presentation will also cross-reference the programs and funding options available under the recently enacted federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
SPEAKER: Our speaker will be Juliane Barone, Legal Chief, OUIO Legal Support, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Juliane is chief of the Legal Support Section for the ODJFS Office of Unemployment Insurance Operations. She began her career in 2001 as an Assistant Attorney General for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, litigating on behalf of ODJFS and several other clients. In 2005, she accepted a position as in-house legal counsel for the department, and she has been serving in legal and policy roles for ODJFS ever since. Juliane served as an integral part of the team that oversaw the legislative drafting and implementation of the SharedWork Ohio program, Ohio’s premier layoff aversion program. During the current COVID-19 crisis, she has been volunteering her time promoting SharedWork Ohio to employers to help them retain jobs.
