The Ohio Council of County Officials (OCCO) invites all county elected officials to a Legislative Reception on Tuesday, April 9 from 5-7 p.m. in the State House Atrium in Columbus. Representatives from other OCCO member organizations will be in attendance as well as many members of the 133rd Ohio General Assembly. OCCO is pleased that Lt. Gov. Jon Husted has accepted our invitation to speak at the reception

OCCO is an organization that strives to unite the associations representing county elected officials and judges, to promote sound, efficient and fiscally responsible government. It serves as a forum to provide information about issues of importance to county elected officials and allows members the opportunity to work together on legislative issues of mutual concern.

Counties are eager to work with the 133rd General Assembly to improve the state-county partnership. Ohio’s 88 counties serve as the administrative partners of the state by providing vital services, such as infrastructure, justice and public safety, human services, economic development, and many others. Given the challenge of balancing limited resources with increasing costs and demand for services, communication between state and county elected officials is more critical than ever. This reception will be a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas and information about how to best meet the needs of our mutual constituents.
