The County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) commends the Ohio House of Representatives for its support of county government in the state operating budget bill, House Bill 110. As passed by the House, HB 110 is projected to fully fund indigent defense reimbursement – CCAO’s number one budget priority.
“CCAO sincerely thanks House Speaker Bob Cupp and the Ohio House for their strong support of county government in HB 110,” said CCAO President Tim Bubb. “The House’s decision to fully fund indigent defense reimbursement will benefit all counties and the Ohioans they serve. Ohio’s counties are grateful for the House’s investment in building a strong state-county partnership.”
The House’s actions build upon Governor Mike DeWine’s significant investment in indigent defense included in the executive budget proposal.
CCAO supports effective county government through legislative advocacy, education and training, quality enterprise service programs and a greater understanding of county government. By partnering with county commissioners, executives and council members, CCAO and its members work toward a shared goal of improving and advancing Ohio’s 88 counties. Stronger counties build a stronger Ohio.
